the result of our pleas brought a few loads of gravel dumped into low areas. Finally after a concerted effort by those of us who share the inconvenience, the Highway Department graded our road this spring. But, after scraping the road, too little gravel was applied (none in some places) and we are back to mud, mire, and ruts again.
We have been told this is a low-priority road because of the amount of traffic it carries. We submit that the road bears a county number and has been part of the highway system for many years. It should be properly maintained and, by proper maintenance, the end result would be money saved. At times, it has been impassable to vehicles other than trucks and cars equipped with fourwheel drive. This is a frightening and untenable situation for those of us who might be forced to use the road in an emergency.
