Louise Ellis of Amissville, whose daughter Rene sustained serious injuries to her left hand last month, told the Rappahannock School Board that the tragedy of the accident is that “the whole thing was totally unnecessary.” Machinery in the high school shop should include every safety feature available, she maintained. “These are young children learning, not professionals using that equipment,” Ellis emphasized.
