Mrs. Bertha Bennett of Skyline Nursing Home in Front Royal celebrated her 92nd birthday Sunday, March 29. She was a former resident of Washington.
She is the widow of James Walker Bennett and has six childreu. Jim Bennett, George Bennett, Stella Payne and Lillian Knight, all of Front Royal, Rena Burke of Luray and Annie Hawkins of Washington. Mrs. Bennett has 30 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her children, guests included Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mrs. Mary Ian, Mrs. Hazel Rook, Mrs. Janet Bunch and son and Mrs. Korena Allison and Lisa, all of Front Royal, Mrs. Jean Alther and Janet of Washington and Mrs. Judy Deal of Hume.
NAACP Meeting
The Rappahannock NAACP Branch will meet Friday. April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Community Center. All members are urged to attend.
