Revenue Projection Low
In response to a question from H. B. Wood, Cox reported that it will take an increase of $210,000 in local money to support the proposed school budget. As listed in the advertised budget synopsis, the school .j board expects to receive $276,583 in sales and wine * tax revenue in 1981-82. Cox told the supervisors that this projection is probably about $30,000 too low.
Addressing the entire county budget, he pointed out that Rappahannock’s supervisors spent $50,000 more than budgeted for fiscal year 1980-81. At the same time, the county received $123,000 more in revenue than expected, leaving a net gain of $70,000 in surplus funds over what was anticipated. Cox said.
