RCHS boys lost to Strasburg but individual improvements and team spirit were encouraging to the coaches and Tim Williams delivered an outstanding performance in the shot put when he broke the school record with 41’ 3‘/2”, placing first in the meet.
Doyle Dunn placed third in the pole vault and Eugene Grigsby was second in the 100 yard dash. Ron Dougherty was first in the mile run and Scott Keithley placed third. In the 880 relay the Panthers were first with Eugene Grigsby. Doyle Dunn, Chris Foster and Edward Summers running.
John Shanahan placed third in the hurdles; Chris Foster and Doyle Dunn, first and second, respectively in the high jump; Scott Keithley and Mike Tomko, first and third in the 2-mile.
In Monday's competition third places were won by Shannon Streagle in the mile; Pam Estes in the long jump; Rhonda Jenkins in the 880 and two mile and Melissa Turner in the shot.
