Gasch
Charles Clifford Gasch of Castleton died November 5, 1961 in the Doctors’ Hospital of Prince Georges County in Lanham, Md. after a twomonth illness of heart disorders.
He was born in Riverdale, Md., a son of the late Dorothy Kerfoot and Clifford Gasch. He was 66. He came with his family to Rappahannock County in 1952 and established Del Rio Electric Co., a branch of his Maryland business.
Mr. Gasch was one of the founders of the Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Department, elected its first president and was the president at the time of his death; he was a member for 40 years of the Bladensburg Department and a 30-year member and past president of the Lanham Hills V.F.D He also drove for the Cottage City, Md. Fire Department, and was a member of the fire association in that area. He had been a school bus driver in Rappahannock.
He is survived by his wife, the former Geraldine Mae Clarke; a daughter, Charlene Romine of Castleton and a granddaughter, Mrs. Kathryn Coombs of Warrenton; two halfbrothers, George Simpson of Howard County, Md. and William Simpson of Los Angeles, Calif.
A funeral was held Monday from the Bladensburg fire house following a service by the members of the fire contingent there and interment was in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
