The Rappahannock School Board members voted unanimously late Tuesday night to hire Thomas S. Campbell of Luray as assistant principal of the elementary school. The action came after a long executive session (for personnel, protection of privacy of individuals on matters unrelated to public business and items which may be put out on bids) which did not end until 1:40 a.m.
Campbell graduated from Luray High School in 1967 and earned a bachelors degree in social science from Wake Forest University in 1971. His masters degree is from University of Virginia in educational administration, awarded in 1975.
The 32-year-old bachelor taught for a year in elementary school in Greene County before returning to his home county of Luray where he taught for two years at both the elementary school and secondary levels. He also served as administrative assistant at Luray High School for two years and . assistant principal and athletic director there for three years.
