Scott Keithley was the fourth runner to cross the Finish line at last Wednesday’s Group A, Region B cross country championships in Mount Jackson.
The RCHS sophomore's time of 16:30 over the 2.9 mile course was just 20 seconds behind the third place finisher and 42.3 seconds off the winning time.
Team results put Rappahannock third with 74 points. Stonewall was first with 43 and Fluvanna second with 70 in the eight-school meet.
Four other RCHS runners Finished in the top 25 in regional competition. Larry Sisk covered the course in 17:16, Ronnie Atkins in 17:38, Craig Kenyon in 17:48 and Mike Tomko in 17:55.
