Postal Service

says mailboxes

must be dug out

The Onited States Postal Service is acting rural route boxholders to dig out around their mailboxes so that carriers can get to the boxes without leaving their vehicles.

Last week’s storms have ' left most mailboxes buried in snowdrifts, and carriers are finding it difficult to get to many boxes on the rural routes.

The Postal Service reminds rural boxholders that USPS regulations require that snow be cleared from around the mailboxes, and that regulations further state that mail will not be delivered to boxes which are not cleared.
