We pass a fanner who’s plowing a crossover with his tractor. Mr. Askew smiles and waves. “A lot of the farmers in the community really help us out a lot. They plow the back roads, push the crossovers dear and widen the shoulders. It takes a total community effort to get through something like this.” The resident engineer chuckles. “Even if the effort is just being patient until we do our thing.” i • . t
