HOWfflGHISUP?
There was a time when it was unheard of to pay $100,000 for a home. Now, in many puts of the country, it’s either a bargain, a starter or a fixer-upper. How high can prices go?
For comparison, consider what has happened to driving in the past ten years. Gasoline prices doubled. At first, the public balked but then quickly adjusted to die new price levels. They didn’t stop driving. Automobile prices doubled. Again, the public balked but quickly adjusted. Ten years ago, car buyers would take one or two-year car loans. Today, car buyers take three, four and five year loans to make their purchase affordable. Driving is a necessity and so is the roof over your head.
As home appreciation rates continue to climb, simple math shows us that today’s $100,000 house will sell for over $200,000 not too long into the future. You can buy today and profit from the climb, or you can wait. Those who wait, as well as the next generation, will pay the highest prices. They too will adjust.
