for dancing to the rock and roll music of the OK’s, the regionally renowned Rappahannock band recently reunited for Relapse Tour 1990. Admission to the dance is $8 per person.
Practically every penny of the proceeds from the March 10 benefit will go to the Nicholson family via Project Rainbow. The organization has no overhead; its administration is strictly volunteer. In addition, all those participating — from the cooks to the auctioneer to the OK’s — are donating both materials and services.
Even the Washington Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad offered the use of its facilities free of charge. (But since this group is also a volunteer organization needing support, Project Rainbow will make a donation to the WVFD for the use of the firehall, the only “cost” to be deducted from the evening’s gate.)
Anyone interested in knowing more about Project Rainbow or anyone wanting to help with the Nicholson family benefit should contact Ms. Mullan at 987-8978. In addition to auction items and pans of lasagne, financial contributions would be gratefully accepted.
