the game away at the foul line, Pan* ther shooting went cold, and then Manassas Park got a three-pointer 1 to narrow the lead to 49 to 47. Rappahannock called another time out. Raye Atkins missed another free throw opportunity and then fouled the Manassas Park player who got his rebound. Andre Fletcher got that player’s missed free throw and he in turn was fouled with five seconds left in the game. His two free throws were good, giving the Panthers a 51 to 47 victory.
Jonathan Fletcher led the team with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Jason Settle had 18 rebounds. Andre Fletcher had 10 points. The varsity finished the regular season with five wins and 10 losses.
The junior varsity had an easier time of it Friday night in a game that did not count and ended with a 46 to 34 win, their second for the week against Manassas Park. The JV finished the regular season with 11 wins and 4 losses.
Coach Leake said of his JV team, "They work extremely well together. They go into every ballgame with the right attitude. If everybody plays within their capabilities, we should have a good tournament.”
