Denise Lucille 'i'uthill and William Michael Rogers were united in marriage on Oct. 1 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.

The sacrament of holy matrimony was celebrated with a candlelight service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jennings Wise Hobson III, officiating, and Vinnie Carney serving as Lay Eucharistic Minister.

The bride is the daughter of Marguerite Tuthill of Washington and GDR. (Ret.) Donald Tuthill of Poinciana, Fla.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rogers of Columbia, Md.

James Wood, the bride’s brotherin-law, provided organ music, and a song was sung by the Trinity Youth Choir: Casey Longyear, Dana Caldwell, Kate May and Berkeley Hobson, with j Charlotte Nichols directing.

The bride and her attendants processed to the front of the church between tall wooden candlesticks entwined with garlands of bright flowers and ivy.

Presented by Mr. Richard Schlecht, friend of the family, the bride wore a gown in diamond white silk designed by Robert Evans. It had a jewel neckline and long, tapered sleeves ending in Peter Pan cuffs. The gown featured a sleek waistline with cummerbund band
