The supervisors learned that the proposed tower for Cellular One and the dispatch center for the Sheriff’s Office cannot be located behind the Rappahannock Farmers’ Co-op because that location does not suit Cellular One. That company has offered to build the tower and share it with 1 the county. Mr. McCarthy reported the Co-op location does not provide Cellular One with the line of sight distance it needs to its other towers in surrounding counties. He said the school properties would probably be unsuitable also because they are in the same area.
The supervisors asked Mr. McCarthy to consider again using the County Park off U.S. 211 near the town.
