Dorothy Butler presented the Shanks family with 9 basket of food as the “pounding,” presenting a pound of sugar, a pound of butter and so forth. She said, “When 1 was a child we had pound parties for our ministers.” She said she had known Barbara Shanks since she taught her in first grade. “If you ever need us, we’re here,” she told the family. Dr. Grant presented the family with a Bible.
