Amissville Ruritan Club invites the public to attend their monthly meeting Thursday, June 15 at Bethel Baptist Church, Route 642. Guest speaker will be Joseph Cooperidge from Culpeper. He will speak on behalf of Mr. Duldt on the proposed “Inn at Turtle Creek” on Route 642 off U.S. 211, road by Hackley’s Store and Post Office.
The Inn at Turtle Creek is proposed to be a Williamsburg-style Conference Center, with pool, spa, inn, restaurant, guest cottages, horseback trails, and will employ approximately 100 local people. The location is the Rothrock Estates, next to the late Louis Jenkins’ residence. It will be on 100 acres and have several lakes.
The presentation should start about 8:15 and last form 20 to 60 minutes, with time for questions and answers from the public. Ruritan president Bill Segrest said it should have minimum impact on schools and services, but could impact landfill and fire department, while generating revenue for the county.
