Mt. Salem Church. From Sperryville on 211 go six miles and turn right on 626, proceed approximately three miles south. Mt. Salem will be on the left hand side of the road. From Warrenton, taking 2H drive approximately 25 miles and when reaching “Little Washington,” take a left onto 626.
From there we drive to Battle Run Baptist Church, hopefully arriving by 2:45 p.m. Then we will conclude our tour at Flint Hill Baptist Church around 3:30.
A church member will welcome us at each location, and give us an historical review of each church. An offering box will be available, if you wish to contribute to their upkeep funds.

Mt. Salem was built in 1824 and restored in 1976. Services are no longer held. It is on Virginia Landmarks register. Battle Run, the oldest Baptist Church in the county, was organized in 1773, and named for the French Huguenot Battaille Family. Flint Hill Baptist was founded in 1853, and has the most beautiful stained glass windows in the county. A.C. Willis, Mosby’s young chaplain, is buried in its cemetery.
