Mullan, Palmer Smith, Janet Kerig, Peggy Schadler and Kim McLaughlin will adorn the lobby where the summit will take place.
Mike Doyle’s “Tree of Life” steel and glass sculpture, featured in a previous edition of the Rappahannock News, will be making its debut at this event. Mr. Doyle says of his piece and its relationship to the event, “Water flows ' from the roots of the Tree of Life. Mankind is the recipient as well as the custodian of the gift that is water.”
Patti Mullan is creating a fused and sand-blasted glass piece of a river trout for the event. “A river trout swims with underwater roots. Water is the root of all existence,” Ms. Mullan says of her work.
Ted Pellegatta will present a 24 by 36 inch photograph of the waterfall at the headwaters of the Rappahannock River at the recently cleaned site in Chester Gap. Palmer Smith will offer an oil and a acrylic painting entitled “Variations on the Theme of Water.” Peggy Schadler’s papier-mache, fabric and paint “water element” mask and costume from one of the Friends of Gaia productions will also be displayed.
