i The Rappahannock Monarchs defeated New Market 14-12 in Apple Vajletf League action Sunday.

' The Monarchs scored inlhe first inning. Reggie Williams got a single; William Parker followed with a walk. Thfen Roland Harris added a single to load the bases. New Market pitching thep walked.Andy Furr to give Rappahannock the first run.

However, in the bottom half of the first inning, New Market scored seven runs.

_Rjapp scored two more runs in the second inning. After that Monarch bats were silent until the sixth inning in which Rapp collected four singles and three walks and added seven runs.

After that Rapp controlled the game.

•, Highlights for the Monarchs were Festus Clanagan with four walks, a sii\g,lp and a triple and Reggie Wiliams who added four singles.

Next for the Monarchs will be Edinburg this Sunday, June 23 at Shenandoah Park in Toms Brook. This will be a double header; the first game begins at 1 p.m.
