Mr. Flickinger studied at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and The Corcoran School of Art. He holds a BFA from The Corcoran. Currently he teaches sculpture at The Corcoran and the 1 Art League School.
He resides in Rappahannock County. Previous teaching experience has been at such notable schools ■ as the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore and Carnegie Hall in Lewisberg, W.Va.
He is the recipient of numerous awards including the 1990 Grant for Excellence in the Visual Arts from the Maryland State Arts Council and has participated in many exhibitions including • the 1992 Cabaret Revoltaire sponsored by the Washington Project for the Arts in Washington, D C. His work has been reviewed by The Washington Post, Washington Times, New Art Examiner and many others.
While an outstanding figurative and portrait sculptor, Mr. Flickinger is an accomplished artist in other lorms of sculpting. He excels in woodcarving, metal sculpture, mixed media and casting as well.
The winter class session w ill be held on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. from Jan. 6 through March 3. The cost for the nine-week term is $165 (model fees additional). There will be a one time $20 material fee for the cost of the clay. Sculpting tools and stands will be provided.
