Claus: Absolutely. They’re treated better than most thoroughbreds and we never use spurs; they're well fed, and they only work one time per year.
Arundel: We've heard reports that one of your reindeer, I believe his name is Rudolph, is sometimes mistreated by the other reindeer and not allowed to participate in social activities. What are you and Rudolph doing to prevent this type of on-the-job discrimination?
Claus: Our workplace conforms to all ADA needs and other special needs as well. This so-called issue has been overblown by the media for several generations.
John Toler (executive editor, Fauquier Times-Democrat): Your North Pole workshop is a significant source of jobs and revenue. What are the chances you would, move your workshop to Virginia and bring these jobs to this fine state?
Claus: The North Pole is a right-towork area, like Virginia, and we're Well established there although we might consider out-sourcing. Remem-ber, we take care of a lot of recycling needs for the rest of the world, including Northern Virginia, although we still haven't found a use for all that hot air
