When it comes to thanking people and patting them on the back for the spectacular Bicentennial the Town of Washington celebrated on December 14, I think it is important not to overlook our town leaders —- especially Mayor J. Stewart Willis — and, what they did to make it a very special day.
First of all, each member of the Washington Town Council is due a big thanks for voting to appropriate the substantial funds to put on the day's events, making it all possible for the town to celebrate the 200th anniversary of its founding in an appropriately grand and memorable style.
