The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board held a private luncheon and a public meeting at the Airlie Conference Center last Tuesday. It was the final meeting for two retiring members.
There was discussion about the budget requests for each county. These need to be turned in to the boards of supervisors in January or February. Mr. Duncan said, "We would take $3.95 per person." The plan is to ask Fauquier and Rappahannock counties for 3 percent less than last year while requesting 5 percent increases from Culpeper, Madison and Orange counties. «
Currently Fauquier County contributes the most to the Community Services Board budget, both in absolute terms and on a per capita basis. Rappahannock County's contribution is second on a per capita basis, but not,high in absolute terms.
