William Wake
William Leonard Wake, 84, of Front Royal died Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Funeral service were private.
Mr. Wake was bom Dec. 27, 1911, in Bethany, West Virginia, son of Arthur and Maude Brown Wake.
He was employed by Wark and Company for the construction of the American Viscose Plant in Front Royal and was a ILS. Navy veteran of World War n serving two years in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy Seabees.
He attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa;
He graduated in 1952 from Auburn University with a degree in veterinary medicine and served as Veterinarian for the Department of Agriculture for 10 years. *
He practiced veterinary medicine in Rappahannock County for 20 years and retired in 1968.
