married Rebecca E. Pullen, daughter of Joseph and Narcenia Vaughan Pullen. Joseph Cephius Bowen married Margaret Ellen pullen, daughter of Thomas E. and "Pegg" Nash Pullen. Joseph William Bowen was bom 13 Nov. 1847, the same day his father died. "Joe Billy" married his cousin, Annie Bowen, daughter of John and Rebecca "Maam Beck" Pullen Bowen. They were parents of: 1) Margaret Lilia "Maggie" (1881-1905) who married Amos Frazier, 2) Ruby Elizabeth (1883-1931) wife of John Bernard Bolen, 3) Oklahoma (or Okley Homer) (1887-1967), 4) Clement C. Bowen, and 5) Nina Henrietta (18901972), who married David M. Dwyer. Sally D. Keyser, above mentioned, was their daughter.
My relationship to the Bowen family is a little further removed. I descend also from William Bowen Sr., but through his son, Thomas Bowen who died in 1822, ten years before his father. Thomas Bowen had parried Nellie Smith of Fauquier County in 1811. Their daughter, Mary Bowen (1812-1865) married Edward Bolen who married Robert L. Pullen was my great-great-grandmother. Another of Edward and Maty Bolen’s children. Elizabeth Frances who married Miles Jackson Dwyer renders another direct line to the Bowen connection. Elizabeth being my great-great-greatgrandmother also.
