Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel with Dr. J. Larry Haun officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Martha Ann Smoot, 81, of Winchester, formerly of Charles Town, W.Va. died Thursday, Dec/ 3 at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born on July 12, 1917 to the late John Henry Jenkins and Betty Jane Jenkins.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Smoot was predeceased by her husband Robert Jackson Smoot; a son Roger Lee Smoot; a sister Marie Smoot and four brothers Clarence Jenkins, Gideon Jenkins, Tom Jenkins and John Henry Jenkins Jr.
She is survived by three daughters Shirley Stewart and husband Carlton of Aldie, Rachel Pierson and husband Doug of Charles Town, W.Va. and Martha “Liz” Moler and husband Eddie or Ranson, W.Va.; four sons John Smoot and wife Victoria of Winchester, Gideon Smoot and wife Rema of Catlett, Kenneth Smoot of Winchester and Jackie Smoot and wife Donna of Charles Town, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
