• The registrar reported on the voting machines and election. All went very smoothly except that one machine broke down. Fauquier loaned the county a machine. There was a problem with privacy, people could see other people’s ballots, and the registrar suggested that the ballot boxes be moved closer to the booths. The board decided the county purchase another machine to have as a back up and should do so soon in order to get the same model.

• Dr. David Gangel, superintendent, reported that the architect had provided the county with a sketch of the new addition to RCHS and he gave one to each supervisor. He said the construction drawing phase would probably begin in the next few weeks.

• Charlotte Nichols was reappointed to the Library Board and Mary Brown was appointed as the new member
