Thursday, Dec. 12, 1968 Miss Judy Burtner of Augusta County has accepted a position as Extension agent, Home Economics, Rappahannock County and will assume her duties here the first of the new year. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sophia will open their IGA Foodliner Store on Thursday, Dec. 19. The store is located in the Lea building in Washington. New officers elected to head the Rappahannock Chapter of the American Cancer Society are: president, Mrs. HLB. Wood Jr.; vice president, Mr. Ian Pryde; secretary, Mrs. Lee Thornton; treasurer, Mrs. James F. Massie; memorial chairman, Mrs. Roberta Spalding. New members on the board of directors are: Mr. Mrs. Ian Pryde; Mrs. Molly VonBrederode; Mrs. Paul Miller; Mrs. Merle Scoggin; Mrs. Chester W. Fannon Jr.; and Mrs. James B. Moss.
