NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPOINT INTERIM
SHERIFF FOR RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Virginia Code Section 24.2-227, as amended, that the Judges of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit will, make an interim appointment to the Office of Sheriff of Rappahannock County to fill the unexpired term created by the resignation of Sheriff Gary Settle. To be appointed, a person must have been a County resident for at least thirty days. The person so appointed will serve until midnight on December 31, 1999.
The Court will interview applicants for the interim appointment and receive comments from others on behalf of the applicants on Thursday, December 17, 1998 commencing at 5:15 o'clock p.m. in the Courtroom at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia.
Resumes, vitae, references and written comments should be submitted to Diane Bruce, Clerk of the Rappahannock County Circuit Court, P.O. Box 517, Washington, VA 22747 no later than Monday, December 14, 1998 at 4:30 o'clock p.m. Persons who desire to appear before the Judges should so notify Diane Bruce in writing by the same time and date.
