Investigation

into local

burglaries

continues

The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary reported on Jan. 22 at a seasonal home on Sharp Rock Road (Rt. 707), near Slate Mills.

According to Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz, the owner of the property lives in North Carolina, and the break-in was discovered by her father-in-law.

The investigation has revealed that the perpetrators gained access to the property by breaking the lock on a gate.

Once at the house, entry was gained by breaking through a side window near the garage. A door between the garage and a stairway was also forced open.

Reported missing from the house were a television, video cassette recorder, store and a telescope. Also taken were three firearms.
