In an accelerated effort to thwart the dangers of aggressive driving, the Department of State Police is intensifying its patrols, watching for that menacing behavior during the first quarter of 1999 as part of the Smart, Safe and Sober program, says First Sergeant Harry A. Newlin.
“Aggressive driving is driving done with anger and provoking anger in others,” says First Sergeant Newlin. “Every year since 1990, when tracking of this phenomenon started, at least 1500 people have been killed or injured in the United States because of enraged, aggressive drivers.”
