Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston with Rev. Howard Frye of Huntly officiating.
Interment followed in the family cemetery.

Kinsey Atkins
Born in Sperryville
Kinsey Jefferson Atkins, 96, of Sperryville died Saturday, Jan. 23 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Charlestown, W.Va.
Mr. Atkins was bom July 4, 1902 in Sperryville to the late Coley and Sara Frances Atkins. He was the husband of the late Izzar Virginia Atkins.
He is survived by four sons, Charles Ashby Atkins of Sperryville, James Douglas Atkins of Delaware, Sherman Franklin Atkins of Harrisonburg and Russell Marvelle Atkins of Winchester; four daughters, Marie Foster and Sadie Baker, both of Front Royal, Laura Anne Smoot of Washington and Charlotte May Atkins of Altamonte Springs, Fla.
He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Washington Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Dodson officiating.

Kenneth Fortune
Bacteriologist
Kenneth P. Fortune, 79, of Front Royal died Monday, Jan. 4 at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 9 at Maddox Funeral Home by Rev. William Kyle Jr., Rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Paul Hawkins.
Mr. Fortune was born Aug. 3, 1919 in Springfield, Mass., son of the late Ralph Edward Fortune and Laura P u mrd Fortune.
He graduated from Springfield Tech High school and was a graduate of American International College and Norwick University. He was a Bacteriologist and Poultry Pathologist with Department of Agriculture from 1954-1981, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Fortune was active in Boy Scout Association from 1934-1986, serving as District Commissioner and Scout Master of Troop 52 in Front Royal, a life member in the Isaac Walton League, a charter member of the Friends of Shenandoah River of the North Fork, a member of the V.F.W. Post 1860, and the Military Order of the Cooties of the United States.
Surviving are his wife, Lou Norman Fortune of Front Royal, formerly of Rock Mills, Rappahannock County; a son, Ralph Fortune of Front Royal and a brother Milton M.
