Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio, a fine arts center located in the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains will commence the third session of an art training program for youths 8-14 years of age. The weekly session will run from Feb. 6-27.

Painting and drawing with colored pencil will be the focus. Instruction in the use of colored pencil techniques will be combined with lessons in control of line and shape in an effort to teach students to learn to see and observe artists.

Kitty Dodd, artist/art director at St. Luke’s School in Culpeper and Carol Vogel, portrait artist and director of Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio will instruct. The art training program is structured into multiple sessions which run for four weeks.

Each four week session explores a different medium and fundamental of the visual arts. Visual concepts such as composition and design are coupled with a strong foundation of drawing skills.
