pillars include the hagmoth, io moth, and puss caterpillar. These caterpillars do not sting like bees or wasps.
They have small hollow spines on their bodies connected to poison glands. Brushing against them causes a stinging or burning sensation similar to a bee sting. Some people may have to visit the doctor if the pain is severe. These caterpillars do not occur in large numbers. They are usually found as individuals or in small groups, so general area wide spraying is not called for.
