Perhaps officials from Culpeper and Fauquier Counties should be invited to voice opinions since their constituents are identified as Amissville residents by the 20106 zip code?
Special interest groups and individuals are certainly entitled to their opinions; however, it is my sincere desire that our elected officials keep an open mind in hearing their agendas. If the AACA is going to move in a direction in which it rules which way we can and should live, then we may as well consider ourselves in competition with the residents of Columbia, Md.
In this developed and planned community, the "community squad comes to see if your fence is the correct fence, if your driveway has cracks that need sealing, or if a shutter needs to be hung correctly, and please make sure that the color of your front door is on the acceptable paint list!
Please let us keep peace in the community by working with each other, not form dictatorships in which one neighbor makes mandates for another. Property ownership of a building lot to hundreds of acres is a right afforded to us by our . forefathers. We are not a newly planned homogeneous community that is looking for an identity in its appearance. We are a community of diversity and that diversity can well become our identity. Dictatorship has no place in a small community such as ours, and we truly hope that open minds will prevail.
