Boy Scout Troop 36 kicked off a new year by holding a Court of Honors Program at the Washington Fire Hall on Monday, Aug. 28. Thirteen boy scouts were awarded a total of 27 Merit Badges and eight scouts completed 33 other rank requirements.
Eagle Scout Phillip Thomas received the Bronze Palm Award.
This honor is awarded to an Eagle Scout who has received five Merit Badges beyond those required for Eagle. Phillip is the first known Eagle Scout in Rappahannock to receive this prestigious award.
