Flower show scheduled
A standard flower show will be presented by the Culpeper Garden Club at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community on Route 15 south. The show, "250 Years and Growing" will be open to the public, free of charge on Friday, Sept. 22 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the usual horticulture and design divisions, a division of special exhibits will include those by residents of the Baptist Retirement Community.
Karate classes to begin
Shorin-Ryu Okinawan Karate classes will be held beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Ki Theatre in Washington. Jenkins reunion planned
Relatives and friends of the late Ada F. and Luther E. Jenkins will gather at the Rappahannock Park on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for their annual reunion. All are welcome.
Lillard reunion slated
The relatives/descendants of John Henry Lillard are invited are invited to attend a reunion at the Flint Hill fire hall on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m. Please bring a covered dish.
Public invited to Trout Unlimited
The public is invited to hear Allen Long discuss “Processing Furs and Feathers for Fly Tying and Lure Making." Mr. Long is a well-know taxidermist from Luray. This program will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shenandoah Lodge, north of Luray. The program is sponsored by the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited that meets monthly at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
The Chapter charter includes a four-county area, all of Page, Shenandoah and Warren counties and the northwestern part of Rappahannock County. Trout Unlimited is incorporated as a national, non-profit educational, charitable organization dedicated to protecting cold water fisheries and their watersheds. Music Festival dates set
The fifth annual Rappahannock Music Festival, a concert featuring local musicians, will be held on the weekend of Sept. 9 and 10 in Sperryville, rain or shine. The two-day festival is sponsored by the musicians, all of whom will be playing for free, and a 100 percent volunteer staff. This annual concert is free, including free parking and free admission. Attention: Singers
The Front Royal Oratorio Society and its Music Director, George Amos will begin rehearsals for its 2000-2001 season on Monday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Front Royal Presbyterian Church. Prospective new members are welcome; no auditions required. Come and join singers from a six-county area!
Mr. Amos promises an outstanding season for singers and audiences alike. The first concert will feature the Gloria of Antonie Vivaldi and the Magnificat by John Rutter. This concert will be the culmination of the Society's 40th anniversary year. The program for the spring concert will be announced later. For more information call 622-6974.
RAWL to hold fund raiser
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is holding its 2000 fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event will be a dinner with dancing and a silent auction. This will be RAWL's major fund-raising effort for this year. Tickets to the dinner, dance and silent auction will be $75 per person, all of which is tax-deductible. For information call 636-3308.

Sept. 11 at 1 p.m., program by Christine Kastan of Virginia Cooperative Extension Office, "Cancer related to Diet".
Sept. 20 and Sept. 27 at 1 p.m., program by Barbara Gentry, Stress part A and B.
Sept. 27 at 1 p.m., program by Lora Bailey of Hospice of the Rapidan on "Dealing with Grief".
