Governor’s Cup
; Sharp Rock Vineyards won medals for all four of the 2001 vintage wines it entered in the 2002 Governor’s Cup, a major competition for the Virginia wine industry. Results were announced at a special ceremony in Richmond on Monday, June 17 with Governor Mark Warner presiding. , The Sharp Rock 2001 Cabernet Franc won a Silver medal, and bronze medals were awarded to three other Sharp Rock 2001 vintages: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Chardonnay Reserve.
