About 40 members of the Rappahannock Farmers’ Association met at historic Mount Vernon Farm on Sunday May 19 for the RFA’s Spring meeting. The brisk spring weather and the pastoral beauty of Mount Vernon Farm helped ensure that a good time was had by all.
The official part of the meeting saw the election of new officers. Once this was concluded outgoing president Dick McNear turned the meeting over to new president Alex Sharp.
Alex then announced the new slate of officers for 2002: President - Alex Sharp, Vice President - Dick McNear, Secretary/Treasurer - Alan Zuschlag, and Directors Gray Armistead, David Cole, A1 Kellert, Steve Miller, Debbie Miloslavich, and Art Zimmerli.
Other official business included a $500 donation from the RFA to the Rappahannock 4-H club. After some debate, it was decided that the Farmers’ Association annual dues would be reduced from $35
