In a new "Student of the ' Month" program at Rappahannock County Elementary School this past year students were nominated by their peers for being a student that is hardworking, friendly, and diligent. These nominations are then reviewed by the teachers and placed in ballot boxes.
The student of the month committee then draws one student for each grade level. Each nomination included the student's name and a specific reason for their nomination.
February winners were Jessica Stout from fourth grade; Emma Hathaway from fifth; Emma DoddHenze from sixth and Alicia Burns from seventh grade.
Selected for March were Sarah Jenkins from the fourth grade; Dean Hogan from fifth; Kim Hutcheson from sixth and Jesse Palmer from seventh.
April winners were Taylor Yowell from fourth; Hannah Rosenbaum from fifth; Noel Johns from sixth and Emily Welch from seventh.
Winners for May were Dave Torrance from fourth grade; Willie Southard from fifth; Osha Kondori from sixth and Meagan Smith from seventh grade.
