Cub Scouts plan rodeo
This year’s annual Cub Scout Pack 123 Rodeo event will be held at Rock Haven Farm in Huntly on Sunday. June 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. In keeping with the cowboy theme, there will be horseshoe competitions, bull ring toss, panning for gold, woodland trail blazing, pony rides and of course a chuckwagon cookout.
This is a wonderful pre-enrollment event for anyone with young boys six or older to discover what scouting is about. For more information or directions to Rock Haven Farm, call Opie Crawford, Cub Master at 987-8495 or Fred Moulton, Rock Haven Farm at 675-3687.
Football camp scheduled
The first phase of football at Rappahannock County High School is about to begin. There will be a summer football camp at the high school on June 26, 27 and 28 from 8 until 11 a m. This camp is open to all boys entering the 7th. 8th and 9th grades, in the fall.
Registration forms must be signed by the parent and turned in on June 26. Forms are currently available at both RCES and RCHS. If you are planning on trying out for the freshman football team in the fall, this camp is strongly recommended. Call Coach Kemp Pullen at 547-2034 if you have questions.
