The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will meet at the county library on Jan. 20 with the general business meeting at 7:30 p.m.
President Bob Lander said, “Members and those considering membership in the organization are invited to attend as RLE P’s meetings are open to the public.”
The Board of Directors will consider the recommended slate of appointees to committees and work groups. The board also will hear a proposal for the organization’s agenda for 2003 as adopted by the Executive Committee.
Mr. Lander said that the theme is preservation, education and working with other county organizations and government agencies.
“ The county is constantly under pressure to change its rural character. It’s RLEP’s intention to conduct forums and work sessions for county residents to learn about and discuss how we can balance what we value and enjoy with the changes that are coming. This meeting begins that discussion,” he said.
