Since 1975, when Paul Reisler pulled together a hammered dulcimer quartet to demonstrate the range of his favorite instrument and borrowed a name from its unusual shape, Trapezoid has taken turn after musical turn in continual evolution.
One of the group’s longest turns will end at Washington’s Gay Street Theater Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. when Reisler, Lorraine Duisit, Michael Aharon and Freyda Epstein perform together for the last time as Trapezoid.
In 1987, Alex Muller and Georg Bednorz were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their work with superconductivity. And in 1988, teacher Brian Patterson and a cadre of Rappahannock County High School physics students made their own superconductor.
