Boy Scout Troop 36 conducted its Winter Court of Honor on Jan.12 at the Washington Volunteer Fire Hall.
The Court of Honor is the ceremony in which Scouts are recognized for their achievements and in which they rededicate themselves to the ideals of scouting.
The evening began with the presentation of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, the recitation of the Scout Oath and Law, followed by the singing of “America the Beautiful” and an opening prayer.
Senior Patrol Leader Andrew Kohler and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Josh Makela officiated over the presentation of awards.
Tommy Shotwell and his parents were called forward to receive his Tenderfoot badge. In earning his Tenderfoot Rank, Tommy has learned basic first aid, useful outdoor skills such as knot tying, and improved his physical fitness. By participating in troop outings,
