Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration
The 12th Annual Martin Luther King Jr., Celebration will feature Dr. Belle Whelan, Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth as the special gueit speaker on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m.
The celebration will include a community choir. All voices are welcome. For the rehearsal schedule, contact Lillian Aylor, 987-8064.
Additionally, winners of the student essay contest will be announced on the day of the event to be held at The Theatre in Washington, Va. The celebration is sponsored each year by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee of Rappahannock County.

Baptist ChurchVariety Shaw on Jan. 25
The seventh annual variety show presented and performed by members of the Washington Baptist Church will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Theatre on Gay Street in Washington. This community event has no admission charge.
