* After placing a classified ad with us for a lost dog, Bill Lyne called to cancel same. Conversation went like this: “I’m Lyne; I’m fine. Hound found.”
The Republican dinner meeting at Cab Inn was well attended on Friday, Jan. 13. After a delicious dinner was served by Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Thompson, and the regular business, including the reading of a letter recently received from Richard Nixon, a very informa' tive speech was made by Mr. L N. DoveL The main point brought out was the laxity of Virginians to exercise their privilege to vote. In our own county there are 3,273 adults but only 975 votes were cast.
The jail break last Tuesday night has turned up the “most” in arm chair philosophy. Attorneys have also been reminiscing about other equally interesting cases. Guess the next charges against Silas Woodward will have to be breaking and leaving instead of breaking and entering.
