School Superintendent Helen Williams presented a draft school budget for 2003-2004 that calls for an increase in funding of nearly $1 million.
Mrs. Williams' presentation at Tuesday's School Board meeting was as notable for its clarity as the public hearing was for its general lack of criticism.
In a significant departure from hearings in recent years, there were no pleas from the public for further increases in teacher salaries, no cries for academic enhancements, no calls for additional athletic facilities.
