The winter athletic teams gathered in the Rappahannock County High School auditorium on March 5 to be recognized both as teams and players for their achievements this season.
The Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team had a tremendous season making it all the way to the State Finals. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) was no surprise as Rachel Sharp walked away with the award.
Rachel was also named to first team All Region and Ryisha Cook was named to the second team. The Coaches Award went to Danielle Hiserman. The All State teams have not been named, but surely Rachel will be included.
The JV Volleyball team MVP award went to Rachel Gall and the Coaches Award went to Mattie Nawrocki. This team did phenomenal as well, making it all the way to the Bull Run District JV Championship Game.
The Lady Panthers are looking forward to next season when volleyball moves to the fall.
The basketball teams had a different story this season.
The Varsity struggled and the JV team was up and down. The bright spot was the Junior Panther team with a 5-3 record in the District.
