Baptist church yard sale
The Woodville Baptist Church will hold a yard sale on March 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds go to the Annie Armstrong missions. For more information, call Pastor Trey Hensley, 987-3317.
Services for Lent
The Washington Baptist Church will host ecumenical services for Lent on each Wednesday through April 9. Nearby Catholic, Episcopal, Baptist and Methodist churches are participating. A pot-luck dinner at 6:15 p.m. begins each gathering, followed by a one hour Lenten service which begins at 7 p.m. Nursery care is available. The public is invited.
RAAC presents humorist
The RAAC Library Series will feature cartoonist and humorist Macke Rowe on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m at the library.
Amissville dance March 15
The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 15 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the fire hall. The featured band will be Southern Action.
Hospice trains volunteers
The spring training class for new Hospice of the Rapidan volunteers begins the week of March 17. Hospice, which provides care and support for terminally ill patients and their families, is looking for volunteers from Rappahannock County. Call coordinator Ruth Padgett 825-4840.
Jobs for teenagers in park
Shenandoah National Park is accepting applications from teenagers for its summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program.
YCC enrollees, between the ages of 15 and 18, maintain park trails, roads, buildings and campgrounds while learning about the park.
The program runs for eight weeks from June 16 - Aug. 8. Applications may be obtained from local high schools.
